Yes, the physical body shows and tells a much deeper story, one that may not show up on medical tests… one that may never be discussed openly…one that is often hidden from view, and yet is entirely real and accurate.
Stress, a loss, death, divorce, a trauma, living in an environment where there is violence, abuse, neglect, constant criticism, fear, tension, and more, has a HUGE impact on how we think, feel, act….AND on what shows up IN the physical body.
The body expresses the “weather” of our inner environment.
A car accident or an injury of some type is not simply a physical injury. Numerous thoughts and emotions came along for the ride before, during, and after that injury. These have a tremendous effect on how the body may or may not heal.
When we don’t fully process or release experiences and emotions…when we deny, suppress, and/or repress, our inner reality, then a “cellular memory” holds onto the experience and may show up later as pain symptoms or dis-ease of some type.
All thoughts…All emotions are Energy.
Energy never dies. It must go somewhere.
In order to heal we must learn to feel, otherwise the energy of these emotions goes inward and literally implodes.
We live in a society that encourages us to figure things out, to try and think ourselves out of stress, learn to “cope” and “manage” stress and pain, to get “back up on the horse” and “be positive”.
Ever say to yourself: “I’m gonna power through? I’m not going to be a quitter”?
Ever decide: “I’m not going to think about this.” (this painful experience, person, interaction, situation)
When we are emotionally honest we are in touch with the fact that with stress, divorce, accidents, injuries, abuse, etc. along come EMOTIONS. They are inseparable.
These emotions are real (and often UNcomfortable) as we sense them in our physical bodies. In order to heal, you must learn to feel and allow the energy of these emotions to release.
